What Am I Up To Now?

It has been awhile since I gave you an update on my life. So today you are going to get it, lol.

My health has steadily improved although I still have to take 6 different medications every day. I have continued my walking program and am up to nearly 2 miles a day. My stamina has improved immensely. The blood clots have been dissolved in my lungs and legs and I no longer have any pain.

I bought a food extractor and am extractor foods for 2 meals a day. The other meal loosely follows a Paleo diet. But I refuse to give up my Twinkies so I still have that vice.

All in all I am doing very well health wise.

I have started writing again. My depression, over my illness, made writing very difficult. My short story 'The Mountain Path' is being shopped to magazines now so rejections should be pouring in shortly, lol.

The book I have been working on is in complete disarray and I have decided to scrap the entire project and start over using the same main character but a completely different story line.

On September 21 I will start an online writing course, Crafting an Effective Writer-Tools of the Trade. I need to continue to sharpen my skills and learning is always an ongoing process.

What I am reading:

SuperVolcano-All Fall Down, by Harry Turtledove (Finished yesterday while sitting on a beach being distracted by bikini clad woman. At least my libo is in recovery)

Zealot-The Life and Times of Jesus of Nazareth, by Reza Aslan

Two Graves, by Douglas Preston and  Lincoln Child

Thomas Jefferson-Lessons from a Secret Buddha, by Suneel Dhand

As you can see; I am a veracious reader. All writers have to be as reading is not only a pleasure but a study in other writers craft.

Finally, and I am a bit embarrassed to admit this, but I have become addicted to Duck Dynasty. Uncle Si is my hero.

Will The Royal Baby Be Circumcised?

Will The Royal Baby Be Circumcised? That was an actual headline today that has circulated over the Internet media. UNBELIEVABLE!!

This makes me cross my legs and I am circumcised, lol. Everything seems to be open to discussion when Royals do anything. I imagine that the Royal Family has no expectations of privacy when it comes to the stupidity of the press.

When George Alexander Louis starts high school every girl, hell every person worldwide, will know as much about his body as he does.

My image of the scene, in the Royal Operating Room, is slightly jaded but I can imagine The Queen saying, "Off with his head! Take an inch off the top! That will curtail his self esteem."

My suggested clinic to perform the circumcision is cheap and Dr. Cutter makes castle calls.

Good Luck kid!! This is just the beginning of the indignities that life and the idiotic press will throw at you.

For Christine

At some point, you have to realize that some people can stay in your heart but not in your life!

It has taken me nearly two weeks to realize this truth about relationships. When a relationship breaks up, especially a long standing one, we go through the grief process that is no different than what would occur if someone had died.

Personally I went through a stages of disbelief, anger, pain, sleeplessness and confusion to reach the point I am at now; acceptance.

Sometimes people can love each other but drift apart at the same time. The desire to stay together may be strong but goals, outside of the relationship, build a barrier that cause the split.

As we start our new lives I can look back on our two years together and smile. In two years we never had a fight, we spent almost every waking Second Life hour together and in many ways we were the gold standard for Second Life relationships.

We treated our Second Life partnership like a real life marriage. I am proud of that marriage and I am proud of the woman who shared it with me.

My mind is full of wonderful memories. My heart is full of love for her. Where ever life takes us we will always have wonderful memories to keep us warm.

One person told me that they were shocked we had split and the we were 'legends' in Second Life for our relationship. That made me smile.

Chris, we will always be friends, we will always share a great love and I am only a phone call away if you ever need me.

I agree Chris; I also have no regrets.

The Founding Fathers Would Be Ashamed

"If ever time should come, when vain and aspiring men shall possess the highest seats in Government, our country will stand in need of its experienced patriots to prevent its ruin."
Samuel Adams

I believe we are now in  the grips of such men.  These men and women exist within the 68.3 square miles that constitutes the District of Columbia. Blindfolded representatives, of the American people that can not see beyond DC's borders to the places where everyday Americans live.

Politicians that have turned what should have been a part time job into a full time quest for power and money. Billions of dollars spent each election cycle to get themselves elected.

What do these political power holders expect of the American people? They expect us to join them in there blindfolded delirium and cover our noses to their stench while we vote to keep them in office.

The moral character of some running for office in New York now must have the Founding Fathers retching while they watch these fiasco's play out.

Anthony Weiner and Elliot Spitzer are prime examples of people that are morally bankrupt and expect us to swallow their crap and forgive their reprehensible behavior. Professional politicians who probably will not be able to produce an honest days work outside of politics.

Hopefully New Yorkers will leave these men standing on the sidelines looking for work.

As citizens it is out duty to question everything that is done by our government in our names. Question every person that runs for elected office so you will know who will support the Constitution of The United States. Question all laws that these men try to pass. Read them!! After all most of our elected officials in DC pass laws without reading them first.

But most of all look at each person's moral fiber. Make sure that they represent the people's views, wants and needs.

"Now more than ever before, the people are responsible for the character of their Congress. If that body be ignorant, reckless and corrupt, it is because the people tolerate ignorance, recklessness and corruption. If it be intelligent, brave and pure, it is because the people demand these high qualities to represent them in the national legislature.... If the next centennial does not find us a great nation ... it will be because those who represent the enterprise, the culture, and the morality of the nation do not aid in controlling the political forces." James Garfield, the twentieth president of the United States, 1877

The future of our nation is in the hands of the people. That is where it should be held with high regard and respect.

It's Official~~American Boobs Are Getting Bigger

A new survey by lingerie retailer Intimacy has discovered that the average 'bra size' in the United States has increased to 34DD up from 34BB 20 years ago. American men do not have to settle for a pitiful hand full anymore. A mouthful is now a meal and not a snack.

I would like to thank all those companies that hormone feed their livestock and pass the benefit of those hormones into the female anatomy. Like the company tag line says; "Eat More Chicken". In the next 20 years lets jump that number up to an eye popping 36DD.

I have a couple of disappointments with this information. First; that I was not included as a member of survey team. Those lucky smiling bastards, lol.

Secondly, that the infusion of hormones into our food supply has not increased penis size. Come on researchers get on the ball. Stop shafting men with hormones that do not pump up girth and length. While you are at it throw in some stamina hormones so we can present the most complete package possible.

Isn't it a wonderful world we live in; Bigger Boobs Through Chemistry.

I have already volunteered for the next boob survey and started amassing the necessary supplies. Lets see; exercise equipment for hand strength, lotions for hand softness and Viagra just in case I get lucky, lol.

Now I am off to lunch. I am looking for some penis enlarging harmone filled chicken, yummy.

Guns To The Right, Guns To The Left, Guns At Hooters

North Carolina prides itself on being a singular state with a mind of its own. It is the southern state that sent the most men into the Confederate Army. It is the state that accidentally killed General Stonewall Jackson; who would have put Lee's army in a position to win the Battle of Gettysburg and change history. It is a state that loves hunting and fishing and an outdoor lifestyle with a strong citizens spread out between it's mountains and the Atlantic Ocean.

Now it is the state that allows people to conceal carry guns into bars and restaurants.

From the Huffington Post; 'North Carolina lawmakers have approved a bill greatly expanding where concealed handguns are legally allowed.'

'The Republican-backed bill approved by both the House and Senate on Tuesday allows concealed-carry permit holders to take firearms into bars and restaurants and other places where alcohol is served as long as the owner doesn't expressly forbid it.'

'The measure will also allow concealed-carry permit holders to store weapons in locked cars on the campus of any public school or university. Guns will also now be allowed on greenways, playgrounds and other public recreation areas.'

Did I mention that North Carolina is a state that has a lot of very crazy people populating its beautiful landscape!!!!!!!

I am an advocate for Second Amendment rights but this worries me. Mixing concealed weapons with alcohol is never a good idea. Human nature dictates that at some point this new law will cause a tragedy.

I see headlines like; 'Religious fanatic shoots Hooters waitress because she had an accidental nip slip' or 'Guns were drawn over an argument about the lack of chicken wings on the Pizza Hut buffet'.

There is only one thing for me to do. Shine up my holster so I look good going into the Olive Garden for that buy on take one home deal.

Celebrity Boycott of Florida

  • All these celebrities are boycotting Florida over the 'Stand You Ground' law; Mary Mary, Eddie Levert, Rod Stewart, Madonna, Usher, Pattie Labelle, Kanye West, Mary J, Trey Songz, Jay Z, Rolling Stones, Justin Timberlake, R. Kelly, Rihanna, Alicia Keys, Joe, Will I AM, Keyshia Cole, Young Jeezy, Erykah Badu, Wale, Frankie Beverly, Parliament and Stevie Wonder.
  •
I realize that people want to take a stand. That is the American Way. But any stand that may hurt people in weak financial times may be fool hardy.

Stand You Ground is a good law when applied properly. I admit that Florida's law may be to lenient in its scope but the same laws in other states are better written and applied.

I have no idea what the economic impact this type of boycott will produce but it may well be significant.

Who gets hurt when less income is produced by a company in Florida? Who gets hurt when less products are sold by a company in Florida?

Its not George Zimmerman. It is usually not those in management. It is the little guy working for lower wages and living week to week. These are the people that get laid off. Believe me; profit knows no race lines. Profit lives for more profit and anyone caught in the way of that gets run over.

Boycotts usually do not work. They tend to be fruitless exercises. Families will not stop going to the amusement parks. College kids will not give up spring break. The snowbirds will continue to fly south.

Look at the history of our boycotts. Cuba!! Iran!! North Korea!! They are all still in business!! The Russian Olympics went on even with our boycott. What have we accomplished? What course has these boycotts effected?

The discussion over guns and gun law is a good one. It is a subject that should be debated.

But if George Zimmerman had been the one killed would be we having this discussion?  I hope we would!!

    Food for thought.

It's Royal Baby Day In England~~And The World Has Gone Mad

Kate has gone into labor and massive crowds are gathering outside Saint Mary's Hospital in London waiting patiently for the birth announcement. The news people are there in droves like ants on a freshly dropped cupcake. Quite a site to chronicle the birth of any child.

I was curious as to who the Royal Baby would share a birthday? I also thought I would include something attributed to that person

~~Stephen Vincent Benet, "Life is not lost by dying; life is lost minute by minute, day by dragging day, in all the 1000 small uncaring ways."

~~George Clinton, "The singer gets the pussy."

~~Bobby Sherman, "I've led a pretty clean life so I've aged pretty well."

~~Estelle Getty, "If love means never having to say you're sorry, then marriage means always having to say everything twice."

~~Sister Madonna Buder, "I train religiously."

~~Alexander Calder, "My fan mail is enormous. Everyone is under six."

~~Amy Vanderbilt, "Everyone knows that a man can always marry even if he reaches 102, is penniless, and has all his faculties gone. There is always some woman willing to take a chance on him."

I believe the Royal Baby will be in very good company.

I have no idea why; but I have always been fascinated by the British Royal Family. The modern version anyway. Maybe because they remain figure heads even without the power to effect change.

I earnestly believe in the sanctity of ones heritage. Whether the heritage is of royal background or that of the town blacksmith. The present Royal Family holds their families heritage in splendid form.

I hope that this baby is born today so I do not have to research more people born tomorrow, lol.  Although July 23rd is the birthday Monica Lewinsky. Now there is a gem to share your birthday.

Sunday Morning, The Most Disturbing Time Of The Week

In movies all the quaint small towns resound with church bells on Sunday morning. Families, in their Sunday best are off to church, with kids in tow, joining other community members in an attempt to garner favor with God. A sign that we are a religious society; or at least are supposed to be one.

I give them credit for their faith even if I do not believe in their path. Religion is a man made institution and attendance to any religion is a fruitless exercise in reaching favor with God.

FAITH, is what God seeks, whether you are sitting in a church on Sunday morning or in a wooded park meditating as I was this morning. I am not saying that people who attend church regularly do not have faith. Many of them do. But for many more church attendance runs the gamut from 'mom made me attend' to 'church is a good networking opportunity'.

Human Beings need for buildings or symbols is a pathetic attempt to appease God. Buildings and symbols are no different than sacrificing goats, cattle or other humans.

The proper way to show your faith in God is to protect Gods creations. Respect nature. Respect each other. Take a personal interest in one on one conversations with God. You do not need an intermediary, whether a priest, minister, rabbi or holy man, to speak to YOUR God. All you need is your FAITH.

Next Sunday morning take a walk in the woods and sit under a tree. Close your eyes and use your ears to listen to all that God has provided.

The sounds of Gods creations are far better than church bells.
