Change Is Not my Enemy! Is She My Friend?

“The key to change... is to let go of fear.”

~~ Rosanne Cash

There is always fear when things start to change in our lives. It does not matter if that change is a small one or one that shakes the Earth. Things change around you every day and many times we do not even notice the changing process until it has completed its cycle. Take the azalea flower that is so prevalent in the Southern USA. The temperatures start to warm and you notice a few buds appear. Then a few days later you walk out of your house and the world is full of white, pink and salmon colored flowers. There was no in between phase noticed by you. Just ZAP and there they are making your wake up a beautiful thing.

The thing about change is that without it nothing gets done. If we were so content in our lives that change was not needed; I believe that we probably had met God. Because I can think of no place else, than in a world run and ordered by God, where we could be content so say 'This is it,,, I need no more!"

I have had a lot of reasons to think about changes in my life lately. Thankfull most have fallen on the good side of life's changes. A few not so much but life seems to balance itself out. Funny how that happens.

“Life can either be accepted or changed. If it is not accepted, it must be changed. If it cannot be changed, then it must be accepted.”

~~Unknown

To a point this quote works for me. It is true that life can be accepted or changed. It is also true that if you do not like your life situation you need to change it. But I believe that we all are capable of making changes in our lives or our situations. Nothing is set in stone and no one ever has to settle for what they have right now. Change is always possible. It has to be because that is the essense of life. The ability to change our circumstances is one of the many things that allowed us to rise up out of the muck and become who we are now. And with every passing day we continue this process of change.

“Any change, even a change for the better, is always accompanied by drawbacks and discomforts.”

~~Arnold Bennett

It is these drawbacks and discomforts that hold many of us back from seeking change. We find a comfort level and then settle back and enjoy it. Later we wonder why so many have passed us by. Simple; the fear of the discomfort that comes with the process of changing scared us off.  Fear will destroy you progress in every situation. Over coming fear is the key to accessing productive changes in your life.

“Every time I find the meaning of life, they change it”

~~Unknown

Here in this short line of words is the cruix off our discussion. Things in you life have to change, Change is forced upon you. You can not fight it. No matter how much we want to live in the simpler past; everything going on around us never allows for that to happen.

Accept CHANGE and embrass it. Let it flow through you and try to understand it. Because the change of today will probably be gone by tomnorrow.

Let me leave you today with quote that grasps probably the only thing in your life thay may be a constant.

“Change is inevitable - except from a vending machine.”

~~Robert C. Gallagher
