Who Invented The Vibrators~~Girls Just Want To Have Fun!!

Why did this subject pop into my head this morning? I really have no idea. It did not arrive on a wave of horniness as one might expect. But it seems, after an internet search, that I am not the only one that thought about the origins of the vibrator.

George Taylor's steam powered vibrators were perhaps the first patented mechanical vibrating devices made to stimulate female patients. The first electromechanical vibrator was designed in 1880 by a British physician, Joseph Mortimer Granville. Although his model more closely resembled what we think of as a vibrator, Granville did not support the use of vibrating devices for inducing female orgasm. He intended it to be used to massage male skeletal muscles. However, the technology proved adaptable, as the millions of women who have used massagers know. The Technology of Orgasm: "Hysteria," the Vibrator, and Women's Sexual Satisfaction by Rachel P. Maines

HMMM!! The Technology of Orgasm?  I never saw this major offered in any college that I have attended. If I had; some of the courses, within that major, would now appear on my transcript.

You have got to check out this website; http://www.vibratormuseum.com/. It is amzing. Especially the Hand Crank Vibrator Models. Yeppers! That's what I said; Hand Crank.

Above: MACAURA'S PULSOCON HAND VIBRATOR~~The action is a plunging motion of the center disk at the end combined with a rotating eccentric weight. There were also applicators that would screw into the center disk. Marked Pat. applied for, Serial No. 6681. Could be from as early as the early 1880's or as late as about 1900. I imagine using this alone took a lot of concentration and dexterity.

Above:VEEDEE Vibrator~~The Veedee is an eccentric weight based vibrator. By loosening a nut the offset of the spinning weight can be adjusted thus controlling the magnitude of the vibration. This vibrator serial number 58199, c1906 came in a complete set with a plush lined case and a variety of applicators. Made by J.E. Garratt, 96 Southwark Street, London S.E.

Above:Gyro-Lator~~ know very little about this one. It's GYRO-LATOR serial no. 2349 Manufactured by the GYRO-LATOR division of an unknown company in Chicago Illinois. This is an early electric model.

There are also Air Powered models. To scary to think about, lol.

In our times the vibrator has become battery powered and portable. I know women that carry one in their purse at all times. STAY THE FERK OUT OF MY PURSE, LOL!

In modern times; and by modern times I mean NOW, vibrators come in all sizes, shapes and colors. Almost every woman has at least one and most more than one. I have three! SHUT UP!

My favorites in order of preference;

and

Both 'Purse Size" and extremely useful.

OK! So what is the point of all these revelations? On the market are thousands of different vibrators with an amazing array of functions. It is said the 45% of all women, world wide, own at least one vibrator. In 2003 One Millon vibrators were sold in Australia alone. Wonders what was going on, or not going on, in 2003 Australia.

So why do so many women own one? I believe that this is an empowerment issue. As woman sieze control of their lives; they want to control of all aspects of that life. I do not believe that any women wants to concede control of their orgasms to any partner. While the orgasm is a primal function of the human body; it is one of the few actual pleasurable primal functions. We all want control of our pleasurable experiences.

If your partner can not give you the orgasm you seek than you will find it on your own. Hence the long bubble bath after making love. Do people really think we want to spend all that time soaking in  a tub after making love. A short soak maybe but if the door is locked? Well you know.

A new toy on the market you might want to check out:

The IRIDE!! Use is self explanitory.

Have fun!!!

Love ya,
Night

PS....I am sure that none of you ever want to take a walk through my mind. It is a scray place that not even Jason would venture into.
